Yesterday I went to attend a class in Portraits. Our community school offers different kind of class of your preference and lucky for me that the class is offered this fall. I had been waiting for this moment to come. The previous year I kept on browsing from the schedule catalog to each of the school here nearby who offers the cheapest class possible and I wasn't able to get one. This year is my moment I guess that I find the best time for me and the specific class that I want.
In class we started from the very basic. Our teacher explained to us the different modes of our camera. She touched the presets from Auto, Portraits, Landscape, Sports, Shutter, Children, Macro, Night, as well as the pro mode Manual, Aperture, Shutter Speed and Program. I am quite relax about the lecture since I have more experience already with all of the modes. When the teacher asked me, what mode I am currently using and honestly I told her I am trying to use Manual mode. Most students in my class are into auto mode so I am way ahead of them. It doesn't mean I am lucky but because I did my share of researching online and applying all the modes that I can use possible before I enrolled in the class.
She had touched some portions of the flash, aperture, light exposure, shutter, bokeh and showed us the sample of pictures to relate to the subjects discussion. It is not yet thoroughly explained but because majority in the class are just starting out. I wished it could be more on the first day but it could be difficult for other students if it's too advanced. I think it is just perfect for any students who wished to improve themselves and skipping the auto mode.
We have an assignment to submit or bring in to class 2 weeks from now. The mode of shooting will be Aperture. We either could use a person or thing for the subject and tweaking the aperture with different settings. I am composing my thoughts now as to what or who will be my subject for my assignment. But I had asked a friend who recently got a new born baby. It's a little bit more difficult for my choice. I wanted more to give for my assignment so the teacher can teach me more how to get better and pro like images. I am scaling myself way higher because I just want to explore better and create wonderful images.
I will post some pictures here when the pictures are done and created. Until next post!
I wanna learn photography too. I am already thinking of getting myself a DSLR. But I don't know which one I will get. I like to attend classes like this as I can learn more in my upcoming photography hobby and wants to enhance my skills on photography. Who knows, I might be able to present good quality, professional-like photos someday in my blog too. We'll see about that.
