So much with my frustrations about getting the light exposure on my camera, I pushed myself to learn something different. I looked up photos of so many good photographers. The photos were taken with ambient light. I was confused what this terminology stands for. The ambient light is what available light in the environment. It could either be coming from the sun which is more natural and other temporary lights that you could use for the shoot. Mostly, what many would used is the sunlight.
Today, I have ambient light on the test. I am indoor in the comfort of my living room. I have a window where the light coming from outside is diffused by the shimmering transparent curtain. I didn't used any other diffuser. I have harsh lights on my face.
I am using D90, 35mm and Sekonic light meter. I got my exposure first and set up the camera. I used a tripod for the camera to stand on. I connected a usb cable from my laptop to the camera. Why I'm doing that? This time I am testing to tether my work using Lightroom 3. Before I set up everything and deciding to shoot, I watched tutorial online and read something on how to use tethering. I had a very successful doing the entire process. So I then connect the cable to pc and there it went through.

The original photo was bad but I love my pose and my smile on this one. So I saved this file and work my way to edit it to make it pop. There's a little harsh light on my hand and good thing that's the only harsh light on this photo. Supposedly, I took this underexpose and it was bad also with noise. I thought this could be a trash but I tried to save this by editing it through my favorite photo software. |
