It's difficult without a model to try on. I set up the lighting at the same time doing myself a model for a test. It was complicated and time consuming. I checked the camera's result back and forth. Reviewed the exposure, testing and keep on firing the camera with a remote control. It was hard to keep on checking the result if I got it or if I did the right thing. I get exhausted eventually.
The first plan was to set up the light. I would get the perfect exposure if I could, get dressed and wear make up. I was not able to do that. Along the way I can't get the right exposure as I would like. Working independently with no assistance and no mentor was the most difficult thing to do.
I had not finished what I was supposed to test. I was interrupted by my husband saying goodnight to me. I didn't know that it was already past 1 am in the morning. Good gracious, what a time to do the experiment. So I decide just to finished right there and then and packed the stuff. Here's my only good photos with some PP and Lightroom retouch.
Not the typical photo exposure in a studio but this was done at first hand and I hope I can make good exposure next time. I can't wait for that day to come where I will be ready and well prepared for the photo shoot... As you can see my face was not well lighted. Right side of the face the shadow was too evident and the background is not pure white as I would want to.
This pose showed itself that I was confused on the light meter and exposure reading. I can't get it right. I didn't know what to do. Bad exposure, shadow and result of grey background.
This was the last photo I took where I just careless about the shadow anymore and so I just carry on what I can use for that moment. Hopefully the next pictorial will be great and well exposed.
